Interactive Desktop

Basic Configuration

To begin an OnDemand Interactive Desktop session, the basic configuration we recommend is less than 4 hours (unless you require more), at least a single core, and at least 750MB memory.

The Interactive Desktop session configuration with 'Number of hours' set to 1, 'Number of cores per task' set to 4, and 'Amount of memory' set to 750MB.

Advanced Configuration Options

Beyond these basic configuration parameters, there are more session configurations you can make by selecting the Advanced Options box below the set of basic configuration options. Here, you can specify the node type for the session to run on, request GPUs and multiple tasks.

Note

Specifying multiple tasks is primarily for running code using MPI

Interactive desktop session advanced config with 'Node type' set to amd20, 'Number of GPUs' and 'Number of Tasks' both set to 1.
