Maintenance at ICER

We continuously maintain the HPCC so that it continues to perform reliably for researchers. For updates and information about our maintenance activities, see our service status page.

Scheduled maintenance

ICER has a routine maintenance scheduled 3 times during the year. Grades are due Tuesday after finals. ICER will take downtime starting at 5am on Thursday, 2 days after grades are due for Spring and Summer. Winter maintenance will be 5am Thursday after the holiday break. Exact dates will vary year to year based on the Thursday after finals. No jobs will run during this time. Jobs that will not be completed before the scheduled date will not begin until after maintenance is complete. For example, if you submit a four day job three days before the maintenance outage, your job will be postponed and will not begin to run until after maintenance is completed.

Unscheduled maintenance

Occasionally we will be required to take the system offline to resolve serious issues. We will endeavor to inform users ahead of time via email, newsletter and our service status page.
